Amplify Magic
Increases magical damage by X and healing by Y. Lasts 10 minutes. Castable on party members.
Rank 1 - Increases magic damage taken by 15 and healing by 16.
Rank 2 - Increases magic damage taken by 30 and healing by 32.
Rank 3 - Increases magic damage taken by 50 and healing by 53.
Rank 4 - Amplifies all magical damage by up to 90 and all healing by up to 96.
Rank 5 - Amplifies all magical damage by up to 120 and all healing by up to 128.
Rank 6 - Amplifies all magical damage by up to 240 and all healing by up to 255.

Arcane Blast
Rank 1 - Blasts the target with energy, dealing 842 to 978 Arcane damage.  Each time you cast Arcane Blast, the damage of all Arcane spells is increased by 15% and mana cost of Arcane Blast is increased by 200%.  Effect stacks up to 3 times and lasts 10 sec or until any Arcane damage spell except Arcane Blast is cast.
Rank 2 - 897 to 1041 damage
Rank 3 - 1047 to 1215 damage
Rank 4 - 1185 to 1377 damage

Arcane Brilliance
Rank 1 - Increases the intellect for the party by 31 for an hour.
Rank 2 - Increases the intellect for the party by 40 for an hour.

Arcane Explosion
Causes an explosion of arcane magic around you dealing X Arcane damage in a 10 yard radius.
Rank 1 - 32-36 damage.
Rank 2 - 57-63 damage.
Rank 3 - 97-105 damage.
Rank 4 - 139-151 damage.
Rank 4 - 186-202 damage.
Rank 5 - Deals 243-263 damage in 10 yard radius.
Rank 6 - Deals 306-330 damage in 10 yard radius.

Arcane Intellect

Rank 5 - 575 damage over 5 seconds.
Rank 6 - Launches 5 missiles for 151 damage per missile (755 damage total)
Rank 7 - Launches 5 missiles for 192 damage per missile (960 damage total)
Rank 8 - Launches 5 missiles for 230 damage per missile (1150 damage total)
Rank 9 - Launches 5 missiles for 264 damage per missile (1320 damage total)

Blink
Teleports you 20 yards in front of you (unless the terrain or something gets in the way) and removes any stun or snare from you.

Blizzard
Does X Frost damage over 8 seconds to a circular ground target. Primary Frost AoE attack that has a good deal of talents that can really beef it up.
Rank 1 - 288 damage
Rank 2 - 504 damage
Rank 3 - 736 damage
Rank 4- Ice shards pelt the target area doing 1024 Frost damage over 8 sec.
Rank 5 - Does 1328 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 6 - Does 1696 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 7 - Does 2184 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 8 - Does 2800 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 9 - Does 3408 damage over 8 seconds.

Cone of Cold
Does X Frost damage and slows for 50% for 8 seconds. Targets a "cone" in front of you that extends for about 10 yards. Instant cast.
Rank 1 - 98-108 damage.
Rank 2 - 146-160 damage.
Rank 3 - Targets in a cone in front of the caster take 203 to 223 Frost damage and are slowed by 50% for 8 sec.
Rank 4 - Deals 264-290 damage.
Rank 5 - Deals 335-365 damage.

Conjure Food
Conjure X loaves of bread to restore health. X is determined by the level of the ability and the level of the Mage. The bread can be traded to other players and will disappear after 15 minutes of being logged off.

Conjure Mana Gem (Conjure X Stone)
Conjures a mana gem that can be used to restore X mana. 2 minute cooldown on the item.
Rank 1 - 390-410 mana restored.
Rank 2 - 585-614 mana restored.
Rank 3 - Summons a Mana Citrine that will restore 775-925 damage.
Rank 4 - Summons a Mana Ruby that will restore 1073-1127 mana.

Conjure Water

Counterspell
If cast during an enemy's spell (with them targeted) it will cancel their spell and prevent any magic from that school from being cast for 8 seconds. Causes a high amount of threat.

Dampen Magic
Decreases magical damage by X and healing by Y for 10 minutes. Castable on party members.
Rank 1 - Decreases magical damage by 10, and healing by 11.
Rank 2 - Decreases magical damage by 20, and healing by 21.
Rank 3 - Decreases magical damage by 40, and healing by 43.
Rank 4 - Decreases magical damage by up to 60 and healing by up to 64.
Rank 5 - Decreases magical damage by up to 90 and healing by up to 96.
Rank 6 - Decreases magical damage by up to 120 and healing by up to 128.
Rank 7 - Decreases magical damage by up to 240 and healing by up to 255.

Evocation
You regain 60% of your total mana over 8 seconds. Channeled spell.

Fire Blast
Blasts an enemy for X fire damage. Instant cast with a short 20 yards range. An excellent "closer" to sear, I mean seal, the deal.

Fireball
Hurls a fiery ball of flame at the target dealing X damage and applying a DoT for Y damage every 2 seconds for Z seconds. Primary nuke for Fire Mages. Notable for its long range, large number of ranks, and amount of talents that can really buff up the damage. 35 yard range.
Rank 1 - 14-22 Damage, 2 damage over 4 sec DOT.
Rank 2 - 31-45 Damage, 3 damage over 6 sec DOT.
Rank 3 - 53-73 Damage, 6 damage over 6 sec DOT.
Rank 4 - 84-116 Damage, 12 damage over 8 sec DOT.
Rank 5 - 139-187 Damage, 20 damage over 8 sec DOT.
Rank 6 - 199-268 Damage, 28 damage over 8 sec DOT.

Flamestrike
Ground targeted. Does X Fire damage to a circular area on the ground and additional Y damage over eight seconds.

Rank 3 - 154-192 damage, 140 DOT damage.
Rank 4 - 220-272 damage, 196 DOT damage.
Rank 5 - Deals 291-359 damage and burns the ground for 264 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 6 - Deals 375-459 damage and burns the ground for 340 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 7 - Deals 471-575 damage and burns the ground for 424 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 8 - Deals 688-642 damage and burns the ground for 620 damage over 8 seconds.
Rank 9 - Deals 873-1067 damage and burns the ground for 780 damage over 8 seconds.

Frost Armor
Increases Armor by X. If an enemy attacks you then there is a chance that they will have their movement slowed by 30% and their attack speed slowed by 25% for five seconds. You can only have one type of armor spell active at a time. 30 second duration.

Frost Nova
Blasts enemies near you for X damage and freezes them into place for 8 seconds but damage will break the effect.
Rank 1 - 19-21 damage.
Rank 2 - 33-37 damage.

Rank 4 - Deals 70-80 damage.
Rank 5 - Deals 230-360 damage.
Rank 6 - Deals 365-415 damage.

Frost Ward
Absorbs X Frost damage for 30 seconds.
Rank 1 - Abosrbs 165 damage.
Rank 2 - Abosrbs 290 damage.
Rank 3 - Absorbs 470 Frost damage. 30 second cooldown.
Rank 4 - Absorbs 675 Frost damage.

Frostfire Bolt
Rank 1 - Launches a bolt of frostfire at the enemy, causing 629 to 731 Frostfire damage, slowing movement speed by 40% and causing an additional 60 Frostfire damage over 9 sec.  If the target is more vulnerable to Frost damage, this spell will cause Frost instead of Fire damage.
Rank 2 - 722-838 Frostfire damage 90 damage DoT.

Ice Armor
Increases Armor by X and frost resistance by Y. If an enemy attacks you then there is a chance (a very good one) that they'll be snared by 30% and have a 25% attack speed debuff applied to them. This is the same as Frost Armor, except improved and a different spell. You can only have one Mage armor at a time. Lasts for 30 minutes.
Rank 1 - 290 Armor, 6 Frost Resistance
Rank 2 - 380 Armor, 9 Frost Resistance
Rank 3 - Increases armor by 470 and frost resistance by 12.
Rank 4 - Increases armor by 560 and frost resistance by 15.
Rank 5 - Increases armor by 645 and frost resistance by 18.
Rank 6 - Increases armor by 930 and Frost resistance by 40.

Ice Block
For 10 seconds you become immune to all damage and cannot move, cast, attack, etc. Places a 30 second debuff on you known as "Hypothermia" that prevents recasting for 30 seconds.

Ice Lance
Rank 1 - Deals 161-187 Frost damage to an enemy target. Causes triple damage to frozen enemies.
Rank 2 - Deals 182-210 damage.
Rank 3 - Deals 221-255 damage.

Invisibility
Fades the caster to invisibility over 3 sec, reducing threat each second.  The effect is cancelled if you perform or receive any actions.  While invisible, you can only see other invisible targets and those who can see invisible.  Lasts 20 sec.

Mage Armor
Increases your resistance to all magic by X and allows 30% of your mana to continue to regenerate while casting. Lasts for 30 minutes.
Rank 1 - Increases resistances by 5
Rank 2 - Increases all resistances by 10
Rank 3 - Increases resistance by 15.
Rank 4 - Increases resistance by 18.
Rank 5 - 21 resistance and 50% of all harmful magical effects is reduced.
Rank 6 - 40 resistance and 50% of all harmful magical effects is reduced.

Mana Shield
Abosrbs X damage draining mana instead at the rate of 1.5 mana per 1 damage.
Rank 1 - Absorbs 120 damage.
Rank 2 - Absorbs 210 damage.
Rank 3 - Absorbs 300 damage.
Rank 4 - Absorbs 390 damage
Rank 5 - Absorbs 480 damage.
Rank 6 - Absorbs 570 damage.
Rank 7 - Absorbs 715 damage.
Rank 8 - Absorbs 1080 damage.
Rank 9 - Absorbs 1330 damage.

Mirror Image
Creates 3 copies of the caster nearby, which cast spells and attack the mage's enemies. Lasts 30 sec.

Molten Armor
Rank 1 - Causes 75 Fire damage when hit, increases your chance to critically hit with spells by 3%, and reduces the chance you are critically hit by 5%.  Only one type of Armor spell can be active on the Mage at any time.  Lasts 30 min.
Rank 2 - 130 fire damage
Rank 3 - 170 fire damage.

Polymorph
Transforms an enemy into a sheep (or other critter with glyphs or upgrades) forcing it to wander around for X seconds. It will have increased health regeneration but be unable to move freely, attack, or cast spells. Any damage done will convert the enemy back to its (usually) non cuddly self.
Rank 1 - 20 second duration.
Rank 2 - 30 second duration.
Rank 3 - 40 second duration.
Rank 3 - 50 second duration.

Polymorph Pig
Turns your target into a pig instead of a sheep when you use Polymorph.

Polymorph Turtle
Turns your target into a turtle instead of a sheep when you use Polymorph.

Portal
Opens a portal for group (or raid) members to go to one of the major cities. Be careful as the portal will expire whenever you enter it.Requires a Rune of Portals to cast.

Rank 2 - Summons a table usable by the raid that summons Conjured level 80 food that serves as food and water. Requires the caster and two additional players to summon.

Scorch
Scorch the enemy for X Fire damage. 1.5 second cast time.
Rank 1 - 53-65 damage.
Rank 2 - 77-93 damage.
Rank 3 - 100-120 damage.
Rank 4 - 133-159 damage.
Rank 5 - Deals 162-192 damage.
Rank 6 - Deals 200-239 damage.
Rank 7 - Deals 233-275 damage.
Rank 8 - Deals 296-317 damage.
Rank 9 - Deals 305-361 damage.

Slow Fall
Slows falling speed for 30 seconds and requires a light feather (but a glyph can remove this requirement).

Spellsteal
Steals a beneficial magic effect from the target. The effect lasts a maximum of 2 minutes.

Teleport
Teleports you to a major city at the cost of Rune of Teleportation. The major cities are as follows:

Teleport spell is...where?

Can anyone think of a reason that I wouldn't be able to see the teleport spell in the list at a trainer? I'm a lvl 23 mage, and I specifically looked for the tlelport and portal spells. I realize that the portal spells won't be available to me for many levels, but I should be able to get the first teleport at lvl20, right? Am I missing some talent points somewhere?

The mage trainer doesn't train portals. You need to see a special Portal trainer.

The Portal trainer in Stormwind is located in the Wizard's Sanctum at the top of the Mage Tower in the Mage District.

For the Horde you can learn Teleport to the Undercity at lvl 20 from the portal trainer located in the Magic Quarter. He's on the first landing next to the green waterfall looking thing. I don't remember but you might be able to learn Teleport to Orgrimmar as well at lvl 20. Not sure on that one. But the trainer is in Orgrimmar on the top level of the mage trainers inn. And at 30 you can learn Teleport to Thunderbluff from the portal trainer in the Pools of Vision. Then you can learn portals ...
