New City of Villains Issue 7 "Patron Powers" Screenshots!

More fun screenshots from the folks at Cryptic Studios, originators of the City of Villains / City of Heroes series of comic book-inspired MMOs.

Cull the favor of arch villains to earn their patronage and, in turn, acquire some of their powers. This particular screenshot shows Mako's "blood in the water" power; how could summoning sharks be anything but cool? From Cryptic:

The exact powers you acquire will be determined by the unique combination of your Patron and your archetype. For instance, Scirocco can grant you access to many of the Mu Mystic powers, but your archetype will determine which specific Mu powers you will get. The powers you gain will be those that your archetype cannot typically access on its own (for example, Brutes will gain ranged attacks, while Corruptors will have access to defensive armors).

    New Issue 7 Screenshots!

TenTonHammer bring you a brand-new five spot of screens from the next big thing to hit Paragon City, virtual home of Cryptic Studios' popular City of Heroes & City of Villains MMOs. We introduced the free CoV expansion "Issue 7" last week with sundry screens and a movie from the storyline-heavy "Grandville" and the Pvp-packed zone "Recluse's Victory," now we have some new screens detailing the 300+ missions found in Issue 7. These "Deadly Manifest" missions include new "custom missions," and are designed to take players from level 40 to level 50.

In order to survive, every villain must decide whom to trust among the many factions that exist in the Rogue Isles, each hoping to advance their agenda without displeasing Lord Recluse. After spending time on all the islands, one thing each villain reaching a high threat level will begin to discern is a strange pattern of mutations across the region. For example, the Arachnoids found across Grandville are no natural beasts. What are these grotesque creatures and where do they come from?

That, and (judging from the screenshot) airport security just isn't what it used to be! Check out the rest of what City of Villains Issue 7 has to offer right here at TenTonHammer!

More tights than an IBM board meeting.
Boomtown has posted some fantastic shots of the City of Villains character screens. Strangely absent is the Martha Stewart character screen.

" There are just four days left before City of Villains goes live. As you already know, character customisation is a key feature of Cryptic Studios' epic and today NCsoft Europe has images to illustrate just some of the options that will be available to players on 31st October. "

    Villanous SuperBases.
Boomtown has posted some great screenshots of the City of Villains bases.

    "
Base building is one of the main new features in City of Villains and
these new shots demonstrate how a fully equipped base can look like.
Everything costs money though, so you'll need a big
supergroup/villaingroup to afford a high class base like this.

Corelax, the return of Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Boomtown has posted some new City of Villains screenshots featuring the Corelax baddies. They even provide a nicely written description of these evil-doers. Ashlee Simpson actually responded to our questions, but we couldn't make much out because of the lip-sync other than this:

" For millennia, a godlike being as old as the cosmos itself floated free across the universe. As the fetid swamps of the Earth's Cretaceous Period began to recede, this god Merulina crashed into the turbid waters of the expanding Atlantic. Settling into the ocean depths, the deity conjured followers, calling forth the Coralax from the incandescent coral thriving in the warm shallows. Made from coral imbued with Merulina's divine essence, the first Coralax were Shapers, high priests meant to lead the burgeoning Coralax civilization. "

    But where's the big lazer?

RPG Union sports some new sweeping landscape pics of the "City of Villains" companion MMO to the player favorite "City of Heroes." No tights, capes, or devilish laughter required.

"..." (no description,in general these guys seem to be laconic bordering on mute! No worries, TTH has more than enough hot air to cover it.)

The screenshots are cool, anyway... see the new City of Villains screens at RPG Union!

Evil, dirty, living in the city, and we don't mean the roaches in your local burger joint.
Pro-G has some new City of Villains screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Rob Zombie, though not undead himself did sing Living Dead Girl. He did not, however, sing the following:

"This is a test of the emergency description system. In the event that the guys at Pro-G had taken 10 seconds out of their lives to post descriptions of the City of Villains screenshots mentioned above you would have read them here. Remember, this is only a test. In the event of a true emergency we would be hiding under our desks."

GameSpot has 10 new City of Villains screenshots posted. A villain, a hero and a victim walked into a bar:

"...and apparently nothing happened. GameSpot has zero, zilch, nada explanation of these screenshots. Was it late? Perhaps the guy who posted the shots doesn't know what they are shots of? Perhaps they are just random shots with no commonality at all? Perhaps they are part if a sinister and tricky viral marketing program?"

Did you think I asked you to fight? No, no...I said you look fat in those tights.
New City of Villain screenshots have been posted on the official site. Above the entrance arch to the Justice League of Lower Slobobia is written:

"Those fancy pants NCSoft guys posted screenshots, but no descriptions. Now we have to figure it all out for ourselves."
