More on Ten Ton Hammer
With a name like Minions of Mirth, how can you expect anything less than a tongue-in-cheek sort of game? This fun-filled game from Prairie Games has certainly won over the hearts of a few jaded MMOG gamers with its fantasy-based world. While it does have a paid-for component, Minions of Mirth is entirely free-to-play on a month-by-month basis, and players only need to make a one time purchase of $29.95 to unlock all the content available in the game. Based on the Torque Engine, Minions of Mirth is one of the few independent companies to successfully release an MMOG in the last decade, although more and more independent companies have been attempting to break into the industry.
Players that enter Minions of Mirth can choose from 16 classes, 12 races and 3 realms, all of which are fully described in the player manual that can be downloaded from the website. Upon entering the world, players are encouraged to become fully involved with the entire game, making their own content and constantly pushing the world to become a bigger and better place. The options in Minions of Mirth are nearly limitless, and if you're interested in trying out an independently made MMOG, this may be the one for you.
Minions of Mirth is available for Windows, Mac and iPhone. You can download a free version of the game or pay a one-time fee of $29.95 to gain access to the premium content.
The premium content includes:
