More on Ten Ton Hammer
Developed by Softstar, creators of Dream of Mirror Online, Richman Online is a title that appeals to all kinds of players. Long-time gamers, casual players, manly men, girly girls, your parents, your children, sentient toasters; even those whose last game was a board game can find something to enjoy in Richman Online. Simple to learn and fun to master, you’ll find that Richman Online mixes elements of video games and traditional board games in an appealing combination that’s as big as you’d like it to be.
There are three "Gameplay Modes" available!
-Regular Play is fun, enjoyable, and with a little time to remember what the cards do, it can be played by all manner of people, up to and including your parents (cue scary music), or if you are a parent, your kids!
-Competitive Mode was originally called "PK Mode," but was changed because people newer to online games might get lost in the MMO-lingo that almost sort of splits off to be its own branch of English. Competitive Mode has variations of each area's maps specific to it, and designed for battle. You get "weapon" cards way more often in this mode, and your "money" acts as a sort of "health bar," with your goal to run around the board nuking other players to drain them of cash. Think something like Monopoly + Mario Kart's battle mode and you're probably close to this. It's like a fightin' board game (except without the board being actually thrown, as in some of the more vigorous board-games I've engaged in....).
-Boss Battle - This mode pits you and a team against a big bad boss who can only be defeated by reducing their total cash to zero! ITeamwork is the key here, so it encourages a different style of play than you might otherwise use.
