Although I am officially the game's Lead Audio Designer, I too have done more than just one job. When the opportunity came to work on a level (thank you Bert-Jan!!!) it was a nice deviation from recording growls for monsters, making music and putting (again) a batch of slightly-different-crickets into a level.

The only mob behavior I see is them dying and giving me loot. Boo-yah!

All though the title might suggest that this is purely an AI related journal, I’m going to stick to the gamedesign side of the subject. Or at least, try to. This article will be part of a series of balancing articles. These journals will cover PvE/PvP, as well as Class balancing. In this first part, I will handle most of the basic stuff. Eventually I’ll go into specific details, but I plan on writing that article during an open beta phase, so you readers will have hands-on experience with details I’ll be posting.
