More on Ten Ton Hammer

The Saga of Ryzom (now known as Ryzom) is a wholly original MMORPG fusing science fiction and fantasy. Planet Atys is a living world, with five rich and diverse ecosystems. A powerful AI technology makes flora and fauna interact dynamically with each other and the ever-changing environment. Choose and fully customize a character from any of the four races of Atys.

Players can engage in outpost wars, duels, arena battles, and faction PvP. Players can also engage in story driven PvE and develop their characters through a flexible skill-based system.

Players can download Ryzom for free on the official website. Gameplay is limited to the starting island for players of the free trial. The entire game is available for players who upgrade their account to a paying account.

Ryzom is a subscription-based game and costs $10.95/mo and offers a number of other subscription options at a discount for 3, 6, and 12 months.

    That's all, folks.

It looks like the remaining Saga of Ryzom server bit the dust recently. From the Ryzom forums:

Slowly, slowly, the gears are turning.

The Free Ryzom campaign looks like it's preparing to roll into action and place another bid on Saga of Ryzom in the wake of the recent announcement that it would be going up for sale.

Yup, we have been following the issue, and are currently talking to the liquidator and our lawyers about the new liquidation. We need to have some things cleared out (lists of the assets being sold, in which conditions, etc.); if everything is in order, we'll probably make a new bid.

    Things went boom.

Saga of Ryzom is rolling back their last patch after it caused some unexpected difficulty.

We're closing the live servers to retro-patch the game to patch 619. The good news is that we won't roll back your characters. The consequences are as follows:

    * Everything that was added with patch 632 will disappear (you can find a list here).
    * If you had stacks of sap crystals, each stack will count as 1 crystal when you'll use them.

    Leaving the Ruins of Silan

The official site for Saga of Ryzom has been updated with some news regarding an upcoming patch.

In a future patch we plan to modify the NPCs that teleport you from the starter island to the mainland.

More freedom will be given to the refugees of Silan. The Karavan communication officer and the Kami guide will offer to teleport them to the capital city of their race (as is now the case) but they will also teleport them to any of the 3 others capitals, even though they will not be as keen to do so. Yep, maybe the strong presence of neutrality due to the big Atys Rangers' camp somehow weakened the will of the Factions that live nearby...
