Will it have a plot as intelligent and gripping as Plan 9 from Outer Space?

One could only hope it could aspire to that kind of greatness. I expect it to be more along the lines of Sponge Bob Square Pants. Oh, that was an insult to Sponge Bob. Sorry, Sponge.

Hey, Sponge Bob may be stupid, but the plots are at least coherent.
I'm thinking of the dramatic scene at Light's Hope Chapel at the end of the death knight introductory quests where there's this guy from the past, and after a lot of melodrama, people work out that they can't kill each other after all for lame metaphysical reasons. Make a whole movie like that and it could almost become a cult classic, or at least fodder for something like Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

That will be the problem. Spiderman was at least a cartoon that made sense if you accepted a couple simple silly notions and were 12 years old. Warcraft, not so much, though I guess I didn't discover it at 12. Maybe it will have good special effects, but if they play it out as they do in the game, MST3K sounds about right.

I nominate Brad Pitt as Arthas.
