WoW Movie Not Dead

We could tell you more, but then we'd be shot

Blizzard chief executive Mike Morhaime is letting us know that the much anticipated (and somewhat feared) Warcraft movie is still moving forward. Even though the project has been in the works for more than a year now, and there still isn't a director on board, Mr. Morhaime says the script is being written.

In other words, it ain't coming anytime soon - but they'd still like to do it.

Though no director has been set for the movie, the film is said to be set a year before the events of the game and fix on an all-new hero.

Mr. Morhaime wanted to share more with the community, but would have been shot if he did. Wise choice there, keeping quiet.

A WoW movie

It would seem like a major money-maker for Blizz, like they really need anymore.

Bad idea from the start.

Take a lesson from all Video Game Adaption Movies and JUST DON'T MAKE THEM.

At best they can be "not too horrible" which isn't the kind of thing you want to aspire for.

If the movie was all in Blizzards Epic CGI format that they have always done for thier game intros and cut scenes then yes bring on the movie!!

Had a film come out shortly after The Burning Crusade, I have a feeling it would have been a massive success no matter how poorly made. The longer they wait though, the more likely people will just say 'meh' I have a feeling.

Otherwise, I'm all for film adaptations of games, but Hollywood is still stuck in that same phase that comic book films initially went though - in other words the source material isn't taken seriously and the screenwriters / directors aren't a good match for the pr...
