Turbine, the makers of Asheron's Call, LotRO, and DDO, have secured $40 million dollars in venture capital. Venture Capital is usually used for new products or services.

Turbine so far has focused on subscription-based MMO role-playing games like Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeon & Dragons Online, but soon is expected to announce some major strategic change. No details are yet available, although one possibility is that Turbine will migrate some of its products from PCs to consoles.
