The world of Norrath has been home to so many over the years it's mind boggling to consider a sequel so popular it's on a fifth expansion.

    EverQuest II Re-Review

MMORPG.com starts the week with this re-review of EverQuest II.

Simply amazing is what comes to mind. At release, the graphics were somewhat shadowed by its competitor World of Warcraft, but with the latest expansion the graphics were given a boost, and are now up to par with its counterpart. Regardless if you are playing a fae or an elf, whether you are in Kelethin or Thundering Steppes beauty is not hard to find.

The third expansion to Sony’s MMORPG sequel delivers on almost all fronts.

Boomtown has posted their review of EverQuest II today. Keep reading to find out what they have to say...

If you want to start off in this new city you need to play a race with a 'good' alignment, such as a dwarf or the all-new Fae. If you choose either of those two races you may begin your adventures in the appropriately titled Nursery, where a benevolent little Fae hand-holds you through your first few quests, introducing you to many of the mechanics of the game, such as killing, exploration, gathering and so forth.

    Faydwer Reviewed

Gaming Heaven has posted a review of EverQuest II's latest expansion, Echoes of Faydwer today.

EQ2 has taken a lot of critique about having bland environments and while both of the previous expansions were better in this aspect, EoF manages to top them both. The forests with the typically enormous fantastical trees, the clockwork land filled with smoking craters and every other new zone – they are all filled, almost to the point of bursting, with unique looking geographical features and imaginative architecture.

A Look At Echoes of Faydwer

GamersHell.com has added their thoughts on the most recent expansion to EverQuest II to their ste today. See what they thought of Echoes of Faydwer...

If you're a PC gamer, there's a good chance you currently play, or have played, at least one of the dozens of popular MMOs. Right now, there are at least fourteen million worldwide subscribers to various online RPGs, with World of Warcraft far, far outdistancing all the others with over half the total MMO subscribers making the journey to Azeroth. Next in popularity (thanks to a huge Asian market) are the Lineage games, and somewhere down the line, with a current population of around 150,000 subscribers, is Everquest 2.

EQ2's expansion spins new life into an old favorite.

Yesterday, Game Daily posted their review of Echoes of Faydwer. Don't miss a word of what they think about this latest expansion to EverQuest II.

The most important addition, however, is the new playable race: the Fae. Small and frail looking, the faeries pack a wallop as spellcasters, scouts and even as warrior classes if played well. They look fantastic, as their wings can be customized into one of a dozen or so designs with intricate patterns and then colored to taste. They have custom hair, face and stature features just as the majority of races in EQII. They're extremely small, but since they never touch the ground, they don't receive falling damage. It is a little disappointing that Fae are of good alignment only, so players that prefer to play Neutral or Evil characters have no new race to play.

Echoes of Faydwer is EverQuest II's most appealing expansion yet, thanks to a new continent, a new race, and a wealth of new content to round them out.

Gamespot has posted their review of the latest expansion of EverQuest II.

Massively multiplayer online expansions often forego appealing to new players, focusing instead on adding content aimed at appeasing high-level veterans. This is part of what makes Echoes of Faydwer EverQuest II's most engaging addition to date. The new expansion is loaded with new content, which is mostly aimed at welcoming new players and giving experts a fresh look at the same old Norrath. There's a new race, a new continent, a new belief system, and a goodly amount of lore to sort through as well. However, experienced players will likely feel a little slighted by some of the additions. There is no increase to level cap, and the higher stat caps and increased raid difficulty don't compensate for it. But for new players and those looking to create a new character, Echoes of Faydwer is a fine addition to the EverQuest universe.

EverQuest II Echoes of Faydwer expansion pays homage to original game but opens up the world of the MMO

GameZone has posted their review of the latest expansion for EverQuest II. Keep reading to learn what they think of Echoes of Faydwer.

Do not expect new character slots. If you have yours all full, you will have to delete one if you wish to create a Fae. This is, perhaps, one of the downfalls to this expansion. Plus the fact that the Fae are aligned to the good side, it seems as if Freeport has received a bit of the short end of the stick (hmm, perhaps expansion four?) this time around.

The gates of Kelethin are open, and Everquest II grows again.

IGN has posted their review of the recently released expansion for EverQuest II, Echoes of Faydwer.

Those of you who ventured into Everquest may remember Faydwer, home to dwarves, gnomes, and many other denizens of Norrath. This time around the continent of Faydwer is beautifully rendered with zones of sprawling forest with trees that reach into the sky, cities of giant acorns that are built in the canopy, and dwarven hold fasts that are built into the sides of mountains. Among the over 20 new zones you can visit, is a new starting area for good aligned characters, Kelethin.

    IGN Reviews Echoes of Faydwer

IGN.com has posted their review of the recently released expansion to EverQuest II. Keep reading to see how they weighed in...

The point is that Faydwer had a seemingly endless supply of delights and diversions for players brave enough to seek them out. The latest expansion for EverQuest II, Echoes of Faydwer, allows players to return to these lands and see how they've changed over the course of 500 years. And though some of the place names and some of the sights might be familiar, those players who traveled through the same territory in the original EverQuest will find loads of changes.

Echoes of Faydwer is looking to be a step in the right direction for EQII.

GameSpy has posted a brief review of the recently released Echoes of Faydwer. Find out what they have to say including the promise of a more detailed review soon...

EverQuest II has changed quite a lot throughout the past two years, and nowhere is this more evident than in the just-released expansion, Echoes of Faydwer. Many would call it the first "real" expansion to the game, and with good reason -- though three have been released since the game's launch, Echoes is the only one thus far to offer content compelling to players of all levels. Our early experience with it also suggests that it represents the most refined iteration of the game yet released. The newly-added "newb" zone is replete with directed content, which makes the early experience focused and entertaining. While the new Fae race may not be to the liking of some players, it really does grant veterans a chance to experience the low-level game in a manner that is probably a whole lot more enjoyable than what they remember.

Where girls can be pretty and even tough guys can be fairies

GamesRadar weighs in with their review of the newly released Echoes of Faydwer expansion for EverQuest II.

We know you manly men out there cringe at the thought of being caught role-playing as an effete fairy, but you won't want to miss out on the new fae race in the latest EQ II expansion. The colorful wings are a big draw, but what makes the fae so sweet is their ability to glide. You can jump from anything for some serious soaring fun without taking any falling damage. The only downfall is that if you take any damage while in flight you'll drop like a lead balloon.

Keep reading to see what else they have to say. What are your thoughts on this expansion? Tell us in the Ten Ton Hammer Forums today!

Echoes of Faydwer (EoF) is a new expansion pack being released by Sony Entertainment for their hit game Everquest 2. While many can argue it is just another expansion, it’s actually more of a re-launch of the Everquest experience.

Primarily aimed at newer players and veterans alike – the expansion encompasses an entire new realm known as Faydwer, containing several new zones (at least 5 large zones) and several dungeons (at least 3) as well as at least one raid zone, this new area will give old and new players alike quite a bit to do as they explore the rich lands.
